Privacy Notice

What we collect and why

• Account details — your name, email address and login credentials (or the Google/Apple identity you sign in with). Used to create and secure your account. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
• Rider profile — optionally your age and gender. Used to personalise the journal and improve the relevance of insights. Legal basis: consent, which you can withdraw by clearing those fields.
• Journal content — your horses' details and photographs, and the answers you give to the ride prompts. This is the heart of the service: it is used to store your journal and to generate your trends, reminders and insights. Legal basis: performance of our contract.
• Coaching links — if you are added as a student, the email address linking you to your coach, so they can follow your progress. Legal basis: performance of our contract.
• Subscription records — your plan, its status and renewal dates. Used to give you the right level of access. Legal basis: performance of our contract. Card details never reach us; Paddle handles them.
• Technical and usage data — IP address, device and browser information, and error logs. Used for security, fraud prevention, and fixing problems. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a safe, working service.
• Support messages — anything you send us. Used to answer you. Legal basis: legitimate interest.

Automated and AI-assisted analysis

Some insights, ride summaries and test-sheet readings are produced with AI-assisted analysis of the entries you have written. This processing exists only to give you back observations about your own riding. It is not used to make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about you, and your journal content is not used to advertise to you or sold to anyone.

Who we share data with

• Service providers (subprocessors) — our hosting and database provider, which stores your account and journal data, and the AI provider that processes entry text when generating insights. They act on our instructions.
• Paddle, our Merchant of Record, for the sale of subscriptions, subscription management, payments, invoicing and tax compliance.
• Your coach, if you are linked to one — they can see your horses, entries and insights.
• Professional advisers (legal, accounting) and authorities, where we are required to share by law.

We do not sell your personal data.

International transfers

Our providers may process data outside your country, including outside the UK and EEA. Where that happens we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and journal for as long as your account is open, because the value of the app is its history. If you close your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except records we must keep longer for legal, tax or accounting reasons. You can export your journal at any time from More → Data → Export journal.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have the right to access your data, correct it, have it erased, restrict or object to how we use it, receive a portable copy, and withdraw consent where we relied on it. If you are in the UK or EEA you may also complain to your data protection supervisory authority. Write to us and we will respond within one month.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, encrypted storage, and access rules that restrict every rider's records to that rider and to a coach they have been explicitly linked to. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously and act quickly on anything that looks wrong.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use only essential storage: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, and local storage that holds your in-progress ride answers so you do not lose them if you leave the app mid-entry. We do not run advertising or third-party tracking cookies. Clearing your browser storage will sign you out and discard any unsaved draft.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13. Younger riders should use it with a parent or guardian's involvement and consent.
